For the past few years, I have been working with Italian composer, Federico Ferrandina, on each of my short animated films. I am excited to be working with him again on a musical score for my exhibition on Love in the Divine Comedy.
Over the next few months, I will share excerpts from his composition as a preview for my upcoming art exhibition in Florence. Please check back soon 💗
Federico Ferrandina’s biography:
Federico Ferrandina is an Italian music composer, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. Born in Matera, Italy, in a family of classical musicians, his diverse musical compositions are often paired with non-musical disciplines like literature, modern dance and sociology. Classical instruments are surrounded by contemporary soundscapes which has shaped his music into a unique and multi-layered sound.
He has teamed up with artists of all genres: world music stars Yasmin Levy and Omar Faruk Tekbilek, alternative pop artists Sirsa and Sara Brown, classical and jazz choreographers as well as brass arrangements for Playing For Change versions of famous classic songs featuring David Crosby, Jason Mraz and Yo-Yo Ma.
In Italy, he arranged the strings for multi-platinum selling artist Michele Bravi and wrote the song Guerra, performed by artist Drusilla during the 2022 edition of the famous Festival di Sanremo.
(N.B. The background music playing on this website is a famous aria, “O mio bambino caro”, from Puccini's one-act opera Gianni Schicchi. The opera is set in 13th-century Florence and is based on an episode from Dante’s Divine Comedy (Canto XXX of the Inferno) about greed, deception and love.)
